If your job search is hitting a brick wall time and time again, it may be time to take a close look at your online footprint.

To do this, google-search your email and social media handles. Many people reuse the same user names on sites they visit, and often these are the same as email or social media handles. You may be leaving traceable “footprints” anyone– including potential employers– can find.

It is also a good idea to use a dedicated email account solely for your job search and/or professional networking. Also, never use your company email address for non-company activities, including job searching.
